The Alex Harvey Band used Scottish psychiatrist Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney's arrangment for the violin section of their fine band.

I have it on good authority that Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney was also the inventor of the Tango. He came up with the idea while stationed in the Falklands. The Tango was originally written for the bagpipes, but had to be given to Argentinians as part of the peace treaty in 1982.

My goodness yafudye, I did not know that! I was aware only that Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney invented The Twist as a form of therapy for schizophrenic patients, which of course was later " borrowed" by Chubby Checker. Thank you, sir, for bringing this little-known fact about the great Doctor to light!

You're are most welcome. You are correct in what you say about the genesis of the twist, but did you know that Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney encouraged Chubby Checker to record "The Twist". Infact as a patient of Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney, Chubby Checker's singing career was part of his therapy. Did you also know that Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney got the idea of The Twist while twisting the top of of a bottle of lithium capsules?

I am ashamed to say I knew only half of the story about Chubby Checker and Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney. You are most kind to reveal the full truth! I was also mistaken about the idea of The Twist coming from twisting the top from a bottle of lithium. I had assumed the idea occurred to the great doctor whilst twisting off a cap from a bottle of fine Glenfiddich!

Tsk, Tsk. Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney did not drink Glenfiddich. His usual imbibement was in fact, Glenmorangie. It is little known that Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney was one of the original "Sixteen Men of Tain".

Sorry! It's just that I do know that once when Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney and Frank Sinatra were travelling over Mexico in a hot air balloon, before it crash-landed on Don Vidor Guitron's ranch, the Doctor saved an entire case of Glenfiddich by tossing the bottles out onto a hay stack one by one.
