| Hi DarkladyJade,my dad is west african and I can tell you that Alicia Keys could never be pure african.This girl is obviously mixed.I think the ODR shapes the way AA view blackness.Even a person with blond hair and blue eyes could be black according to this rule.Black people are genetically diverse because we consider as black people who are not black. |

| Thank you for schooling. Like I said in my video, a very very very light skinned person is NOT, I repeat, NOT pure African, point blank. I want to ask this question. Why do we as black Americans want to claim something that's not ours? Why do we claim biracial and intergenerationally mixed people as black? Why do we one drop rule them. You're either pure or you're not. Alek Wek is pure with no question of it. I'm not even pure, but I'm not biracial. My brother in law is African. |

| I think that mixed people have been put on pedestal during and after slavery.They are the ones you see in magazines,in movies on TV.I saw a video where a dark skinned woman explained that you have more chance to get a job if you're light skinned!Mixed people have the economic power and a visibility.They reinforce the AA comunity.May be that's why AA want to keep them in the black comunity. |

| Exactly, and when they see someone that look like Alek Wek, they will call her ugly even though she's the original-looking, pure, full-blooded, African woman! WTH???? How bad have we gotten. These light-skinned/biracial women DO NOT speak for me. THEY ARE NOT PURELY BLACK!!!! Every time I mention this, they will call me a hater, a racist, etc. WTH??? | You are so right on. We should limit the use of light-skinned/mixed women and add some more fully black women (dark and brown-skinned, African featured) in everything. Then we can use mixed women again, and it will destroy the racial hierachy, colorism, racism, and white supremacy. Nobody will be left out. |

| I'm sorry. Don't get mad at me, but I'm going to have to disagree with that comment. NOBODY IS PURE!!!! Scientists will prove that, and Maipai is very well educated about this. I don't believe that a very light-skinned light-eye person is PURE 100% AFRICAN!!! Even I'm not 100% pure! It's impossible to be real light without having some mixture waaaay down the line. | I don't think it's impossible. Considering that black people were the first humans on earth, and are the most genetically diverse, and all the other races came from black people, I find it very hard to believe that it's impossible for black people to have lighter features without having mixed with other people. Improbable, perhaps, but it's not impossible. |

| Why do YOU want black people to only have Sudanese features? I don't WANT any group to have certain features. I'm just saying that I acknowledge that not everyone in a group has the same look. No, I don't expect to see an asian with blue eyes, but I met an asian girl with natural blue eyes, just like I met a black little boy with blue eyes. No I don't expect to see a white person with kinky hair, but the white guy who works at my job is completely white and he has kinky hair. |

| Sudanese features? Those Sudanese features are AFRICAN features. Sudan is a country in Africa, so what Alek possess is African features. We're not talking about now. We're talking about Africa back then during BC times, and at that time, a loooong time ago, they were brown and dark skinned. Right now, there's a mixing of different races around the globe, so of course you are going to see Asians with blue eyes, thanks to the mixing of Asians and whites, and whites with kinky hair.
