Quite a valid comment and thank you for posting it. I would respectfully add that it takes a military force to secure the land in order to allow the people to draft a constitution. This constitution in turn (as you pointed out) would hopefully then guarantee individual rights. I find this comment refreshingly intelligent, and congratulations on your miltary career.

The B-52 crash at Fairchild Air Force Base was a fatal air crash that occurred on June 24, 1994, killing the four crew members of a United States Air Force B-52 Stratofortress,during an airshow practice flight. In the crash, Bud Holland, who was the command pilot of the aircraft based at Fairchild Air Force Base, flew the aircraft beyond its operational parameters and lost control. As a result, the aircraft stalled, hit the ground, and was destroyed.

But eventually it's the politicians and the wealthy who use the soldiers to protect those freedoms or to take them away from others as they please. And if everybody here is bragging about what they do, i'm an aerospace engineering student and i like it.

Hi John, I welcome your post. I agree with you that a military outfit is a tool to enforce/secure the will of a government. However those that profit from it, and in a free country this includes the general population, should recognize that soldiers did/do the dirty work so that they can enjoy their way of life.
Congrats and good luck with your career choice, I know first hand that the maths for it are very tough; I failed this course.
