So you are saying the federal reserve is a privare banking corporation that hijacked our currency in the early 20th century and has been robbing America ever since. and..the dollar is virtually worthless since all other currency is based on the gold standard and the dollar is not. So if China and the Middle east decided not to take dollars anymore then our money would be totally worthless. Is there a solution? I bet Ron Paul has one.

Almost right but no, other nations do NOT base their currencies on gold, not since America defaulted on its debts back in 71. Gold on the other hand, never defaults. Ron Paul's solution? Go back to the gold standard, for the simple reason that governments can't print it and bankers cannot create it with a pen.

No, your wages A. don't, and B. you lose value because others buy all the goodies because they got the extra money before you did, ie they purchased at yesterdays price, you have to pay tomorrow's price. It's a transfer of wealth from the first to get the new money from the last to get it. Which is you and the other normal people, as opposed to government, bankers and their cronies

It is not. That was the only way to give the new paper money value that people could count on when it was first introduced.
Then when it's value was established, the vid is correct in saying that they took the US dollar off the standard so they could print more without having to back it. The economy in the 70's slumped badly due to this, but eventually recovered due to US industries growing etc.

What I find contradictory is that therealweeklynews makes the point that Nixon was the "worst president" and mentions one of his wisest moves in the same breath. If the US had ever had to rescue the dollar with gold by the time Nixon was in office, the US economy would have collapsed. Instead, we went into a long, slow stage of inflation until we evened out.
I do agree that printing money is like a tax. That was an excellent point, therealweeklynews.
