I still have my Amiga 500. They asked me to sell it for 3000 Euro. I said NO! Because i love that machine. Only Amiga makes it possible. And it's the best amiga i ever had yet. ;) OH! And i wont say RIP cause AMIGA NEVER DIED! By the way..... i see modern consoles applying the architecture of seperated chips for each job even in 2008. Ahead of it's time indeed. And i was a happy 8 years old user back then. AMIGA FOR EVER!

Amiga was the Windows of its day, playing the best games with the best features and software. No surprize Windows copied Workbench and we're still using the same UI as today on all windows versions.

Well, these days, Macs have pretty much the same x86 architecture as the common PC. There are quite a few others - such as SPARC, POWER, ARM, Itanium, SuperH - but they are used on servers or embedded devices, not home machines. So, forget hardware, think software. What's the system of the future? As much as I love Mac OS X, I'll say Linux: it's free, it's open, it's got critical mass, it's really good! Get a liveCD and give it a try.
