Pretty decent list here, but Princess Tomato was a good game. It's safe to assume that if you're only 21 (according to your profile), then you weren't even born yet when many computer games had a similar type of interface. I believe that when this game was made, it was trying to appeal to that sense of old gaming nostalgia--which I feel the game does a good job at doing. So, it's not a bad game, but (no offense) I believe you're just not old enough to get it.
