I would have to say they (Roy,Beck,Vai, and Zappa) can play rhythm if they are going to pull a melody out of the second mode of a Harmonic minor it would be safe to say they could strum a few chords to go with it. what Im saying is all chords are formed from scales and if you understand scales its simple to use the 1,3,5 and then accent the chord with maybe a 6,7,9th or any whatever its pretty simple to deduce that they could strum if need be. Nobody wants to see them play rhythm
Nobody wants to see them play rhythm? There's a silly statement. Seeing the majority of guitarist spend 90% of their time playing leads, and the remainder on rhythm, I'd have to disagree. How often do you hear a player with really great rhythm chops? It's the first thing I look for in a guy's playing. And no, I'm not talking about simple strumming. I'm talking more along the lines of SRV playing Couldn't Stand the Weather. Name the tune where Beck's as funky
raunchy. Please.
That's great stuff! Too bad I was playing Cause We Ended As Lovers B4 you were in diapers. But so what? The fact is Blow By Blow is hardly an album I'd cite for great rhythm work. As far as Townshend being the best ryhthm player, you need to expand your horizons there, son. Oh and yes, the majority of guitarists certainly do spend 90% of their time playing leads. You're so fucking stupid you posted what is arguably SRV's weakest Voodoo Chile on YOUTUBE as your fave! Cunt.
U can get of Blow by Blow already, seeing I purchaesd it on vinyl back when it was released. Besides, 9th chords are boring. Truth
the Orange album are both better, by the way. As for better than Pete...Chuck Berry, SRV, Hendrix, Keith Richards, Steve Cropper, Johnny Winter, Bruce Welch, Curtis Mayfield, EVH, John Butcher, Robert White, Rich Robinson, Malcolm Young, Eddie willis, Dennis Coffey, Larry Carlton. Start with them, Junior. Maybe you'll actually learn something.
EVH does not suck dick, bro. Listen to VHII from start to finish some time. His riff-work and rhythm playing are astounding. Do a YOUTUBE search for VH's LIGHT UP THE SKY
let me know what you think.
He's good. I like his style. Never heard of him Bf. Where's he from?
Does somebody have a full version of this track (album or live, doesn't matter)?
