Christian Bale stars in The Prestige as a master illusionist in turn of the century London. Christian had personal memories to draw upon as his grandfather was a member of the Magic circle, the premiere organization in the world for magicians, sometimes pulling out his box of tricks from the attic. For the film Christian worked with magic consultants Ricky Jay and Michael Weber who taught him only what he needed to know.

just one little thing, this movie is set in the 1890s to 1900s. The tricks they used are authentic for the stage back then: i.e not the result of one hundred years improvement. I wouldn't expect them to be better than today's standards, that would just be silly

Bad narration, but I watched this movie and found it amazing. The whole story was just amazing and very well acted out. Plus, it's kinda cool to think we have Batman vs. Wolverine :p

Saw this film in the cinema, the volume was deafening, only at points like the gunshots and stuff that makes sound to make you jump, this film was the first film that made me jump due to noise alone.
