| I see the movie first. The book is always better, so if you watch the movie first you can judge the movie on its own terms and then read what is presumably even better. Otherwise, you just go to the movie and nitpick on anything it does that isn't like the book. |

| The book isn't always better. FIGHT CLUB sucked balls when I read the book but when the movie came out I couldn't believe they made something this good from the source material. Also, give me THE GODFATHER and THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION before both the book and the short story for the latter. |

| I can't possibly agree that the movie is better. The book Fight Club is like the exact same thing as the movie Fight Club. The ending is a little different, and a few other parts, but other than that the movies like an exact adaptation. And I just read Choke a few weeks ago, and based on the trailer I'd have to agree with plumeria, this looks like it could be good but it doesn't look nearly as smart or great as the book was... the book was amazing |

| Can you honestly say you think people like Chuck Palahnuik because of the sex and violence that he includes? Because its that that they think is edgy and smart? I don't know who you're calling retarted considering in Choke (and most of his novels) Chuck makes pretty much the same point you do- NOT to live through movies and TV.. You know he doesn't even own a TV right? You've either never read a Palahnuik book or completely missed the point of his writing. Get off your high horse. |

I dont know who Sam Rockwell is and what rock he crawled out from but this movie is going to put him into the stratosphere of character actors making the JUMP to lead.Great straight man.Great casting.Hey when Angelica Houston chose this as one of her few acting you know it can't be crap.Hilarious content |

| After not seeing a movie in over 6 yrs I am breaking down.There is something inherently real about the lead character.He is the guy you see at the 7-11,the consummate smartass at work.Inside us there is part of Victor Mancini in everyone.That is making the best of the situation,find humor in the mundane, and occassionally trying to score both financial and otherwise in our lives to make life bearable.He is the everyman trying to make the most of something-out of nothing |
