Well to be honest its not that you would need a great pc, but those games take teams of 10-200 people, so its more about time. One person could ot realistically do it, no matter how much time they thought they could put into it.

Your interpretation of what i meant by 'detailed enough' seems to be completely over the top, what i meant by this and it may be my fault for not explaining it clearly is: a game which could be recognised as being somewhat like a 'Doom 3' i.e. have a few rooms, have a few monsters throwing things at you, and you being able to move around. Not necessarily in a high-detail high-polygon count way or in a huge world like in Doom. That's what i want to know. Thanks :)

in that case yes, but you would need to learn some python (programming language) for more advanced actions. Blenders capabilities are very high, and with the update to the GE there is alot you can do with it. I would still suggest forming a small team though, for any game project in 3d can still be difficult by ones self, or you could download free resources from blender, and cut some of the work back.

You make it sound it makes it sound all rather difficult; i was just after something simple.. excuse me if i'm being naive but after you get used to Blender it doesn't seem all that bad. Also played with 3DS-Max 4.0 and that was a very hard software. What impressed me was impressed Blender ability to make a 'game', but obiously you're not going to make a commercial release with it but i just wondered what types of games might be possible. Anyway, thanks for your help. I appreciate it :)

Hello, i am an advanced blender user, but this is the thing that i cannot get. whenever i try to make a water simulation, either when i bake the water dissapears and i have to start all over again, or when i render with a see-through material, it turns out alll these random colors.
please reply i would like to learn this.

If you're looking for a simpler interface, try Multimedia Fusion. It's not free like blender and python, but it's a lot easier to work with.

Thanks, i'll bear that in mind. I still think once you start to get your head aroud Blenderder it makes a lot of sense. Look out for my new up-coming Doom clone soon!! ;)

When I do the bake, it doesn't do anything I am using Blender 2.43(I think) for video game meshing and it used to work, but it does not show my fluid when I bake it, whats wrong???
