I hate to agree ... ( 1 month ago by AmericanDiaz)
I hate to agree because I am a big fan of Steves but this amplified acoustic thing sounds really crappy. It is really hard to get a decent tone in a big venue and it probably sounded really crisp and clean there, but some tones don't transfer well to other mediums, tape, CD, reel, ADAT, etc....

posted a lot of text comments on you tube. here's another... played for thirty three years now. steve morse, in my estimation, is the cleanest, most talented, most knowledgeable, guitarist that i have ever heard. he can play everything as perfectly as playable. all of this slash, yngwie, evh talk... buckethead who? yes, they are all good at what they do, but morse is better at everything. (to me.) really listen to this master. (sure that i will get some hate mail for this posting.)

i havent heard ... ( 3 weeks ago by Crazyguitarman1991)
i havent heard steve do sweeping or neo classical impro like yngwie, or great big tapping patterns like evh, og blast a million alternate picked notes like buckethead but i prefer him as well, he is extremely versatile, and i feel the melody better with him.

in my opinion each ... ( 2 weeks ago by slayer666metallica)
in my opinion each guitarist is best at what they're known for.. imo, evh? i mean, come on.. tapping. its his thing, his trademark so to say.. gilbert, fucking badass when it comes to alternate string skipping arpeggios. friedman,... good at.. uhh, you know, that eastern sounding shit or whatever that he does. lol. ya get my drift?? everybody has weaknesses but also strengths in their playing, its a just a natural human trait i think.. lol
keep in mind ... ( 2 weeks ago by slayer666metallica)
keep in mind malmsteen is playing his acoustic straight up to a mic and not directly through with added delay/reverb/chorus, etc.. which might explain the raw sound.

I still prefer Ritchie Blackmore. Morse just doesn't fit it Deep Purple, in my opinion.

not that i don't agree with people that say vai, satriani, petrucci or gilbert are some of the greatest players ever, but they always seem to forget steve morse. well there are much more good guitarists then the ones i just named, but i mean look at his perfect technique (especially alternate picking arpeggios). its just godlike:P.

The first 6 minutes ... ( 3 days ago by jaefransverige)
The first 6 minutes may seem easy, with just some fingerpicking built on chords, but they involve really evil righthand tremolo picking and very tricky left-hand stretches, IT IS NOT EASY
