Here is a thought: What will happen when you have lost every single customer you have because everyone is unemployed except you and your fellow directors of the board? - and lets not forget that the slave labor populations ca not afford to buy the plastic junk you want to sell for 400x profit. I hope you think about that question while you are sitting safely in your panic rooms waiting for rescue which will never come.
Hmmm... well ... ( 4 months ago by pjvdixon)
Hmmm... well history shows a different pattern - rapid economic growth which is how the standard of living in most countries for most people has risen over the last 150 years. Patrick Dixon
Over the past 150 ... ( 4 months ago by seneca67)
Over the past 150 years? I think you most be responding to some other post? Because, I recall people leading productive lives, and actually making things in this country a mere twenty years ago. Those people earned good pay, and as a result of the value we placed on their labor they became the most sought after consumer market in the world. Do you think todays Mcd work force can afford to purchase $400 dollar Ipods? Outsourcing, is why the consumer market is shrinking.
It is interesting ... ( 4 months ago by seneca67)
It is interesting the you picked a time scale of 150 years. In my country 150 years we had no labor standards, and slavery was an institution. Since then slavery was abolished, and standards have reflected an increasing value for fruits of labor. The economy increased with the value of a hard days work. About Fifteen years ago we began to bypass hard won standards of modern society to save a buck, and wonder why the economy is in a major crisis?
Any American CEO or ... ( 4 months ago by bharfarar)
Any American CEO or executive laying off U.S. employees and outsourcing those jobs overseas to "remain competitive"...is an outright TRAITOR TO AMERICA. He/she should be imprisoned, or worse, for betrayal of America. An ECONOMIC TRAITOR such as this has no morals, ethics, and is betraying the very country that made his company's very existence possible. An OUTSOURCER is worse than a murderer, rapist, or traitor selling nuclear secrets. His greed damages his own soul, and his country.
In the U.S., ... ( 4 months ago by bharfarar)
In the U.S., traitors like you are reviled and considered the enemies of the people. Your treason against U.S. citizens makes lower than a dog.

Hmm - I am a UK citizen actually. You sound very angry about outsourcing - I am interested to know if it has affected you or your family personally? It is possible you might feel different if it meant that as a $5 a day person in a country like India you now have a job for a load more dollars a day and can feed your children. What happened to the global village? I travel in over 50 nations and see the global community as one.
Americans who ... ( 4 months ago by bharfarar)
Americans who fought and died to construct and preserve a nation and who have witnessed the "American Dream" being stolen from them---I dare say...violently disagree with you. Outsourcing amounts to the destruction of the American Middle class, and it is now complete. I compare your role to that of a prostitution pimp: those 'within' it claim it to be a "victimless" crime (those with a vested interest), while the rest of society knows full well the destruction it wrecks. Globalism is pure evil.
OK so I am ... ( 4 months ago by pjvdixon)
OK so I am fascinated to know what you think the answer is? All international trade is a form of globalisation. Buying and selling with other nations. This YouTube site is a form of globalisation - you and I are in different nations debating the same issues on a global platform paid for by advertising for global products in a global market. No globalisation means no imports of Chinese goods. It also means no exports of American films, or vehicles, or software, or pharmaceutical products?
Do you have any ... ( 4 months ago by pjvdixon)
Do you have any chinese made products in your home? or UK made or French made or Canadian made for that matter? Or fruit or other food products from another country in your kitchen? If so then it seems to me that you are a globalised person yourself and are outsourcing your own purchasing.

Outsourcing and ... ( 2 months ago by plutocratarianism)
Outsourcing and offshoring for dirtpoor wages is wage slavery and your exploiting those in third world countries for your own personal capital gains. You Guys Save the Most Money and Make the Most Profits from Slavery! True Fact. Soon the anti-slavery laws will be repealed, and Slavery will be Back!
The US needs ... ( 2 months ago by plutocratarianism)
The US needs outsourcing and offshoring because it is a form of Wage Slavery. Those workers in India and China don't make $40,000/year, It is Wage Slavery, it is exploitation of cheap labor, nothing more than slavery.
Our National ... ( 1 month ago by alfatourist)
Our National economic Policy should be more oriented toward high paying, high tech employment than credit
housing market. Though everything matters because the color of the money is the same, however, the sequence should be set straight. High paying
high tech jobs should be the top priority of the next administration. Why have economies of countries like India and China boomed? It is because they have implemented the correct sequence of money generation.
They have gotten ... ( 1 month ago by alfatourist)
They have gotten their priorities straight. The sequence should be set straight because the individual ability to buy homes, health,
maintain sound credit, all DEPENDS on high paying employment. More High paying employment in today's world emanates from high tech jobs
expertise in specialized areas.

If he thinks the jobs are going to move to Pakistan... he's seriosuly mis-guided.
Pakistan is a failed, bankrupt state on the verge of total anarchy. What businessman in his right mind would invest his time, energy and MONEY into a place that could implode at any moment? The IMF will give the Pakistani government a massive loan in the near future. This will buy some time - noth
ing more. It's like the Titanic, five decks are flooded, the bilge pumps can only buy them some time before...
"No globalisation ... ( 4 weeks ago by worthlessdollar1)
"No globalisation means no imports of Chinese goods. Also, no exports of American films, or vehicles, or software, or pharmaceutical products."
No globalisation, would mean the end of America's $800 billion trade deficit. The end of the largest transfer of wealth - from West to East - in human history. American films? They are already pirated in China. Vehicles? Made in Japan - GM is bankrupt. Software? Made in South Korea. Drugs? Soon, t
he Chinese will make them too, CHEAPER. Notice a trend?
"Well US needs ... ( 4 weeks ago by worthlessdollar1)
"Well US needs outsourcing, bcoz Indians and Chinese are just smarter, look at the number of them doing PhDs in US; more than half of total No."
That doesn't mean that the Indians and Chinese are smarter - it means that they are more highly motivated and have a CULTURE of hard-work and achievement. Unless, you believe that they are somehow naturally superior humans... In that case, I'd recommend Mein Kampf as a good read. The US needs
outsourcing like it needs 4 more years of Bush.
How come Americans ... ( 15 hours ago by chuchuwii)
How come Americans just like pointing fingers and blaming other countries? The root casue of financial crisis began in America due to those irresponsible citizen spent too much future monies that they could not afford to pay back. Because of globalization, other countries are not immune.
