Same here - although I was a bit older than 4 or 5 (I'd have been around 17 or so...)
IMO, David Gilmour should, centuries into the future, be remembered in the same way as people remember Motzart, Beethoven, etc... - a musical genius. Maybe not always the best lyricist, but there's no questioning his ability to compose fantastic music.

My mother worked at home, so I was at home all day long doing nothing. My parents are huge pink floyd fans so I had the occasion of watching the pulse show in 1994 over and over and over. It was just so well done. You're right about david, too; not only his guitar playing but the music he wrote when roger was out of the picture will stay with me for the rest of my life. Not to mention the most amazing concert ever recorded in the history of mankind.
