There is a lot I want to say about this video, so I will keep it organized and direct, versus my usual spontaneous rambling. :D
FIRST THINGS FIRST. About this video. :D This video is special to me. :D See, it's not one of those videos I made just because I liked the song or it seemed to fit the pairing... One of those that just revolves around the game as it is... No. This is one of those few that I took and made a story
to around the song. Sure, the story is still pretty canon, but I shaped it and made it my own usingggg... My own emotions. :O Ohnoz. xD So, yeah. This song is my song for my boyfriend. :D Anddd I wanted to make a video because I adore it. But then as I went to, I realized it sort of fit my friends,
too. And there are three of them I owe a lotttt. Because while love is wonderful and just as good as it's made out to be, it can also be really rough with a lot of problems. Especially when being separated by 1,000 miles. And sometimes it gets really hard. And I fall. But these three are alwaysalwa
ys there to catch me. And since this song had an aspect that I could turn into that... I did. Leaving this to be not only a RikuxSora tribute, but a friendship tribute as well. The story, put simply, goes like this:: It's during the events of Kingdom Hearts II. Sora has looked everywhere for Riku,
but cannot find him anywhere. Sora is in pain without Riku as it is starting to feel like they will be separated forever and never be together again. And all the while during, he relies on his friends Kairi, Roxas, and Namine to give him strength to keep going, to keep waiting, to keep searching, wh
en he feels like he has run out of his own strength. They take care of him when his heart is aching and he is very grateful because he wouldn't make it without them. Now. To my next subject of business. All of the clips in this video were chosen carefully to represent a specific meaning or scenario
. While some may look random, I assure you they are not. :D I didn't spend sixteen hours (pretty much) straight on this for nothing. So if you are going to watch this video, I suggest you pay attention to it. :D I don't want to tell you everything as I want you to figure it our for yourself, but h
ere are some of the subtle signals and effects I was going for:: The music changes as Riku first appears. While the grayscale may seem random, it is anything but that. All greyscaled clips are meant to signify a particularly painful memory (such a shutting the door), any surreal, dream-like feeling
(such as Sora watching the birds fly away in his "dream"), or, the most often used---a daydream or hope for the future (all clips of Sora and Riku being reunited, obviously.) Another clip I know seems random is the first one of Kairi that appears. That too is chosen for a reason. :D Notice she's h
olding the memory charm---meant to signify the heavy theme of Sora's memories of Riku. Also, the shell that is supposed to signify "come home" is washed away. Cue clip of Riku behind the door and then Namine shutting her sketchpad. All meant to signify loss and end. :D And then of course, the endin
g. The ending shows all his friends and not just Riku because the point is that he needs love anddd friendship to be whole. He wouldn't make it through the pains of love without his friends. It's in grey because it's a hope for the future, but Namine, Kairi, and Roxas are in color because that is su
pposed to signify that it will come to pass. Sooooo... I think that's about all I have to say. :D Oh yeah. Aside from all that, this is the first time I experimented with voice-overs. :O I think they turned out pretty well. Though forgive me if for a few seconds once or twice the music seems to go
away. I fused the audio from clips not shown with the song and that always happened. I tried to fix it the best I could...so...yeah. *shifty eyes* Soyes. I'm pretty sure that's all I have to say. :D Enjoy, I hope! PS: The credits are so long 'cause of long dedications and Myspace pictures, lolz. S
