3D Medical Animation Cesarean Birth (C-section)

Uploaded by: nucleusanimation
Video Description:
This 3D medical animation shows the common indications for a cesarean delivery, including dystocia, placenta previa, fetal distress and multiple births. A cesarean section (c-section) surgery to deliver a baby in frank breech (feet first) position is also shown. During the procedure, the surgeon (usually an obstetrician/gynecologist, i.e. ob/gyn) makes an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus in order to deliver the baby. The animation also includes information on what to expect before and after the surgery. See more 3D medical animations from Nucleus Medical Art at http://www.nucleusinc.com/youtube

I had a c-section on 9/9/08 and I think they said it's something to neutralize the acid in your stomach.

It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. It's just a quick pinch and then you feel pressure and a popping sensation as they go through the layers in your spine. They just asked me right after I had my baby if I was planning on bottle or breast feeding. I wanted to try breastfeeding but I really don't think they'd pressure you into it if you really didn't want to.

I do hope you've popped over to the natural birth vids and left scary messages about birth risks over there too... wouldn't want to think you were one of those judgmental types who think us women who have c-sections are somehow more ignorant than you...
I just thought this ... ( 1 month ago by mrsmangobabe)
I just thought this video left out some important information and wanted to add some things to present a more complete picture. It bothers me to see information presented supporting the myth that c-sections are safe and easy when statistics say they're not. If you had all the information available to you and made an informed decision to have a c-section because it was the best option available to you, I totally support your choice, just as I would hope you'd support me if I chose a homebirth.

End result? Healthy baby, healthy mama. Giving birth is not test you must either pass or fail. When I had my son many people made me feel like a failure because I didn't go though natural childbirth. With all the hormones coursing through my body at the time, I cried for days...but now I am older and wiser and realize those self-important jerks should mind their own business.

I would neither support nor dissuade you, I'd just think it was none of my business! :) I have had 4 sections, the 4th one was 8 days ago! I'm sorry if I was a bit snappish with you, but I watched this vid to calm myself before surgery, and it helped to see it presented as a straight forward operation. It is very hard to find anything positive about caesareans on the web, as everything seems to have been hijacked by a rather evangelical vbac movement.

question:which is better a c-seaction or reg. way and which one would had less pain?
c section would be ... ( 1 week ago by rebeccanms18)
c section would be better for when something is the matter. otherwise naturally is suggested. i would have to say naturally would have less pain because once the baby is out the pain should subside and its over but a c section, even though you are under anesthesia you will have day to weeks to recover and from what i heard when you stand it feels like your insides are going to com out or even on fire.

In reply to fantasia's question: it's better to give birth normally if you can. Labour pain MAY be intense, but when the baby is born it stops, whereas after a C section you are still in pain for several days. I know - I've had 4. It's better to have a spinal anaesthetic if you can - you recover faster, can get out of bed sooner, and you don't feel sick either. Afterwards, you cannot eat until you pass wind, in case your bowel is blocked. And the drain removal is painful! Yes, natural is best!

They should show this video before all c sections...I was in labor for 44 hours and then had to have a c section...It's neat to see what was actually done.
