Today's RN is more in line with France & South Korea & is more of a regional-coastal navy.
Depending on who's data you use, the highest rating the RN received was 4th & the lowest being 10th.
I personally believe it should be ranked a distant 2nd to the USN yet still ahead of the other navies of the world. I feel the poor showing in the Falklands along with the fact the RN lacks a capitol carrier & modern air superiority fighters is holding it down in the ranks.

I didn't say USN doesn't use them I was pointing out that the none of the great naval innovations are American ideas. As for Amroured decks I was referring to WW2 when American carriers suffered at the hands of kamikazi piots as they used wooden flight decks wereas British armoured carriers suffered very little damage comparitively. There is more to size and tech to being the "best" and I also never said the RN was the best either

ya an that's why a german sub sunk a british carrier. :) buddy armour decks would do nothing against the Kamikazi. the Kamikazi still had a bombs on them an suicide rocket planes. an the fact is the british carriers had very little use in WW2 compared to the U.S Carriers. an that the kamikazi's smaking into battleships an an other such armoured ships were still doing damage.

not for long the next fastest plane will be a US plane because to fly in space u need to go mach 18 or faster because thats the next frontier space and the US is already getting prototypes and making the engine but expect it out in 2010-2017 between those years it should be out

yah look at that war in reality it would be USA Britain France Germany Albania Iraq Afghanistan Isreal Georgia Saudia Arabia Kuwait Turkey and some other countries from the EU vs Russia Serbia N.Korea and Iran china wouldn't help their not stupid yah their armies big but against that many nations they would still lose and Putin would try to take over the Syria Eygpt and Turkey too if he had the chance so he might have 2 more countries to deal with

Once in 2014 the RailGun Ship turret artillery systems come out american military will be able to plow down any target for up to a range of 400-500 MILES! This isnt a missle or a gps guided smart bomb thisis a flying projectile. Unstoppable with any defensive system setup. The US Navy will be able then to strike any target from any international body of water.

what?! that's a stupid comment how would deck armour help against a torpedo? British armoured carriers suffered very little damage from kamikaze that is a historical FACT & why US carriers built later had deck armour. British carrier borne aircraft pretty much destroyed the Italian fleet still in harbour which is where the Japs got the idea for Pearl Harbour. If you want to make a point back it up with relevant facts you just seem to be writing the 1st irrelevant thing that comes into your head

british barly had to deal with the kamikaze hell 1 crashed into the HMS Formidable an it went into the smoke stack not the flight deck. also was stating the fact that Britian lost a carrier to a sub. also armour decks back then ment fewer planes to carry. yes as I said the british Navy today is the 2nd best in the world.

That sounds like a frighteningly powerful weapon--I wish to look it up and gain some info on it. I haven't even heard of it before, which is odd seeing as I love skimming information about the United States armed forces, particularly the Navy. Currently looking forward our new Gerald R. Ford class supercarriers and the Royal Navy's Queen Qlizabeth class supercarriers. I am a proud, patriotic United States citizen, and supporter of our allies, our friends, and our brothers--the British.
