Hell yeah it's huge and the action on those guitars was tight. You had to have strong fingers. There was no alternate tuning or drop tuning to make the strings lighter or to make the sound more dense. you just had play it and endure the blisters mate.

thanks for sharing this. Ole T-Bone, one of the great masters.
They don't make em like this anymore fellows..The whole original
blues generation is almost gone- and can't be replaced.
The younger guys rely too much on flash and gimmics rather than good phasing and showmanship.

A lot of blues artists did it, and The Allman Brothers Band (assuming thats where ya heard Bobby Bland? just a guess). Elmore James did it and a few others I can't think of right now. Great song.

The song should really be Stormy Monday ("Call It Stormy Monday") without the Blues in the title. About three years before T-Bone wrote this there was a No1 song called Stormy Monday Blues, written I think by Billy Eckstine. But who remembers that when you have Aaron Thibeaux Walker playing the way he does. Pure Class !!!

T-Bone Walker is the father of the Blues. Many will disagree but as far as electric guitar goes & single note phrasing .Hes style was copied by the generations of players like BB,Chuck Berry .Albert King wanted to play like him bt couldn't & came up with his own style.
