Chip & PIN (EMV) terminals are tamper resistant, but this doesn't stop their contents being replaced. We have made this one play Tetris, but it could just have easily collected card numbers and PINs. why would you need to replace the innards? tetris is such a simple program that versions are available on almost every machine imaginable, all it takes is to get the chip and pin machine to stop running its usual software and run the tetris code.

Well it's simple, the outercasing isn't as tamper proof as the memory and CPU it runs on. It's the same as creating your own vacuum mould of the case and putting whatever you like into it.

it wouldn't necessarialy have to have the terminal hacked. Load tetris onto the card,and when the terminal request a PIN or card number or whatever it does first, just put a pointer in to the tetris code. brilliance, now i want to do that so i can go and grab a card out at the shops scan it through and then go "whoops, that was Tetris, oh well better have a game" (then when it finishes it goes back to "insert card" mode :D) ahhh the fun :P M

Now I want tetris on my job's coffee machine x'D. After see this and games like Doom or from the Game Boy on the iPods I think that the old saying is right: "Knowledge is power"; so... then when you are bored you use that power and put tetris on the card chip an play it on the terminal xDDDD. Very good ^^
