This is how the open looked before the show was remastered circa 1990. Note the Trans-Lux logo at the beginning, now gone, and the old Speed Racer logo. End credits, with original font, also included.
(I am aware that the Japanese version preceded this English dub.)

This the way I remember it growing up in the 60's! Thanks for sharing. I would love to find a clean copy of the open and close to edit my DVD set so they have what I consider the "proper" opening and closing. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I forgot to add, Peter Fernandez is now the voice of grown-up Spriedel in the Nick cartoon Series "Speed Racer The Next Generation" - I tried to watch it but the plotlines don't parallel to the original, with such things as "Connor" having a mechanical monkey called "Chim-Chim" and not being related to Speed Jr. or Spriedel. Give me the original series any day!
