yeees, a bolt of lightning that can cross the vast distance from the clouds to the roof of your car will be completely flummoxed by 4 small lumps of rubber. The very fact that the electricity is jumping to the car shows that it is reaching earth. The effect of the Faraday cage is the only one having any significant impact in this video. Electricity always follows the path of least resistance, and the cars metal body work is far less resistant than anything else.

I was in my car, on my way to school, which was struck by lightning cruising on the interstate at 65 mph in a rain/snow storm many years ago. There was a huge white flash on the windshield, a crackle of electricity, and the hair on my arms stood straight up. The following quiet feel and sound of electricty that seemed to remain in the car for several minutes was creepy, to say the least. Didn't damage me or the car whatsoever, but it was weird, very very weird.

Look, mate. At no point in that clip was a single American joke. I presume you are American yourself and I would like to put you out of your misery and tell you: The whole world laughs at America behind it's back. America is the fat, stupid country that couldn't point to Britain on a map. To insult the BBC in that manner is only going to help display your upmost stupidity. I am not this stereotype is always true; but you are model american: ignorant towards the rest of the world.

charlie, i too am american and i would agree with you to an exstent. yes most of the people who live here are ignorant, stupid, lazy, brainwashed morons who cant tell that our country is a push away from becoming another superpower of the world we'll read about in history books because it fell. dont get me wrong, i love america, just not a lot of the people who live here! you can laugh at the idiots who live here all you want, just do we one favor. leave my military out of it, thank you!

Have you heard of Conscientious objector? If they object the war they need not join the army in the first place.
