the democrats don't have enough of a majority to overturn a Bush veto, and I'm pretty sure that they've only had a majority since 2006. And when they can't overturn a veto and nobody is willing to work across party lines, you get gridlock.

For Obama to be a presidential candidate he had to work hard and get good grades, first to get into Harvard without connections and then to graduate. McCain finished 5th from last in a school his admiral grandfather and father undoubtedly pulled strings to get him into and he then obtained a highly competitive position that his grades alone would have disqualified him for. Not that its your business but, I've been working long enough to spot a spoon fed rich idiot.
