the place i work at:
four of us share one stapler. the sugar is always out. i have to bring tea bags from home, because i dont drink coffee, and even if i did, there is the coffee from five days ago still in the coffee pot. my chair is close to being broken...the maintanance guy told me he'll come back to repair it...

I work for the Dublin office of Google. It's pretty similar to the style in the US. To reply to Moshgfx, it is profitable because the company philosophy is that people work hard and are more creative when they enjoy being in work. This is my first job (intern) but I have to say that it makes perfect sense. The fun stuff is there, but be under no illusions- we work damn hard to get things done, it just helps to have cool ways to relax when you have downtime.
