| think coldplay is a bit of an overrated band. to me 80 per cent of their songs are boring and actually cannot be listened to more than just a couple of times. and i dislike them all the more for having such an irresistible stunner as alicia on stage with them. it's not fair :( |

| Why compare music and different bands? You appreciate their music or you do not. No need for comparisons, when everyone has a different opinion on that and it leads nowhere. ;) Peace. Coldplay are gods as much as many other good bands are. |

| The fact is that the guy mentioned "quality". He didn't say "I like them" (which is what I would personally frown upon equally :) So, when it comes to quality, things sometimes have to be compared, matter-of-factly. Tastes have got nothing to do with it. Cause if they had, everything (including music) would be pointless and lost thanks to countless individual opinions who'd relativize it all. I'm sure you'll agree with me on this. |

| What it makes pointless is discuss upon different tastes, and they exist even in a factual comparison. The concept of quality for him maybe is different from yours. You're both right in your own judgments from what you think music is meant to be and bring to you... it can bring us to "heaven" with different melodies. My point is only that. Peace and keep listening to Coldplay. This week I've been listening a lot to The Cure too, remembering some good days. :) |

| you should listen to the smiths and morrissey, for a change (or some scratch acid, god forbid!), and then see how wrong you are. it's so ruddy easy to listen to such heard-it-a-hundred-times-before-but-I-don't-care' bands such as coldplay and think it's so cool, cause 'everyone has their own tastes,so it's ok' and stuff. |

| though she's got a sexiest voice and stunning melodies, alicia keys has always been kitsch, overflowing with sentimentality and tastelessness. but, banal as hell, she's not meant to be quality! the same applies to coldplay. if you cannot see it, then i can't help it! nor will i ever try. good luck with your taste... and stop being a hippie with your 'peace, brother' intentions. it's intellectually impolite and insulting. |
