SPG Solar Press Conference - November 14, 2007 SPG Solar Selected as Exclusive Solar Provider for GoSolarMarin
SPG Solar, Inc. (SPG), the Northbay's leading solar energy provider, has been selected as the exclusive vendor for the Go Solar Marin volume discount program. The company was chosen over 10 other bidding solar integrators.
Go Solar Marin is a group whose mission is to encourage homeowners in Marin County to go solar. Their goal was to obtain the best price as a community, while benefiting the environment, adding value to homes, and reducing electric bills. Initiated by Lisa Max of San Rafael, CA, Max first thought of organizing a community solar purchase three years ago when she and her husband moved from Bellevue, WA to Marin County.
" The allure of solar energy as a green alternative at a discounted price has struck a responsive chord in the community," said Max. "The response here has been overwhelmingly positive. We have the opportunity to do a good thing and save money for all of the participants. I now believe that it is possible to sign up as many as 1,000 homeowners."
The vendor selection process which began October 2007, was based on several factors: price; quality of products; ability to perform the stated number of installations within a certain time period; ability to service, maintain and monitor these systems over their expected useful life; company history and past performance ratings; and the ability to include a wide geographical area in the group. "We believe SPG Solar's proposal provides us with the best opportunity to achieve these goals," stated Max.
"We are thrilled to be selected as the exclusive provider for the Go Solar Marin Program," said Dan Thompson, President and CEO of SPG Solar. "As a Marin County resident and business owner myself, I'm proud to have our local workforce at SPG Solar developing and building these projects. Not only are we able to provide significant discounts through this program to help hundreds of homeowners go solar, but we are happy to support Marin's economy through the development of green jobs."
The Go Solar Marin Program is slated to run through February 2008. For more information about the program, contact SPG Solar at gosolarmarin@spgsolar.com or (415) 883-SOLR.
