No. No need to fight. I'm just sayin people rarely give J. Beck the credit he deserves, especially with respect to Knopfler. He sort of emulates his sound and style. But to each his own i guess.

just enjoy the song for being a good song. his voice suits the way he plays. who can say he is the best ever or not, out of all guitarists in teh world, only a few are known. but who cares? just enjoy mark knopfler's music.

Everybody has their own taste when it come to guitar playing as with anything else in life. Joe Satriani is the perfect textbook guitarist and if you like that then that's great ,MK has soul and can make the guitar sing unlike many of todays guitarists.each to their own but for me MK is the best and the most individual around!

Right on. I saw Joe Satriani live years ago, and was at first impressed with the speed-weenie stuff, but after awhile it just became irritating. Haven't been able to tolerate him since. Satriani has nowhere near the style, brilliance and timelessness of a master like Mark Knopfler. Sorry, Satriani fans.
