No, it's just an expression, and quite harmless at the time that it was written. Back then we didn't have kids shooting up HS and colleges every other month!

Absolutely! It's 35mm Kodachrome 64. You can still get it from B&H. Expiration date 7/09. Just checked the rolls in my fridge. I've been shooting the stuff for years and never confuse it with Ektachrome. If you've never shot the stuff, I recommend trying it out before it's gone forever. It really does have a unique appearance and appeal.

you can't buy it anymore where i live, no stores import it anymore. its all 35mm, 5x4 and digital. Unless you have connections then you can possibly get special items.

Bummer! Well I can only get it online, and there's only one place in the world that develops it anymore (here in the US). I'll shoot it for as long as I can, but the handwriting is on the wall. Mama's taking my Kodachrome away! :(

Hi Vonnie, Kodachrome was the first popular user-friendly color film, invented in the mid 1930's. Has sort of a legendary status after all these years, with a unique palette, and having recorded so much of history in full rich color. Try a wiki search for it. It has an amazing history, starting with its invention by two musicians(!) I guess that brings it full circle back to this song! Cheers!

KodaChrome was a fun moving song that I liked a lot and was the film of choice. Today, the Digital Age, film is fast on the wayside. Digital is nothing but easy, less cost (no developing) and no waste. How did we live with that film era? This song is in my "Fantasy" compilation on my Mini Disc collection. Thanks a lot.

It's funny, I'd heard this song for years on the classic rock stations (too young to have heard it back in the 70s) and never until now listened to the lyrics. It's really a great song when you listen to the words. My favorite line is still the first one, it has such bite to it. Thanks for posting this.
