Well, the whole thing is not about being the best guitarist or being legendary. I think, it is about how a guy expresses his feelings. How authentic it is. If the music actually matches the guy who plays it. Kirk is authentic and true. His music says: "hear what I feel" not "hear, I have been practicing 10 hrs a day for last 30 years". I feel excited while listening Crowbar. At the same time I feel bored while listening Joe Satriani, who obviously IS a legendary guitarist and HAS skills. :)

by the way...I'm also a drummer, and before everyone jumps all over me, please, I'm not comparing myself to Kirk, I just think that's pretty cool that our b-days fall on the same day, and born exactly 10 years between. I was born in '55, he in '65. I don't meet/know too many people whose b-days fall on April 14.
