LeAnn Rimes performs I Need You at the CMA awards show. The poor girl had a rare virus called Epstein Barr which effects the vocal cords and was still required by the CMA's to perform. While performing, she cracks a couple times. Just goes to show how amazing of an artist she is.

This was amazing, and you can tell she was sick (not that it was bad, it was great) I just mean that you can tell she has a bad cold or something but was still amazing!

I find it hard to believe that the CMA would "require" anyone to perform where there was possibility of damage to the voice. She did well regardless, but suspect she performed because she wanted to.

the first time i seen this vid i didnt know she was sick, but i knew summat werent right because shes never struggled like 1:46 on anything else so to sing that song that good whilst sick shows what a class act she is. and if they made her sing whilst like that then they are wankers

i think CMA (its board) is the one sick making a poor sick lady sing... im starting to think CMA is anti-leann...they wanted her DOWN...they let her sing crack...just like in the 41st CMA they let leann perform with REBA for people to compare her with the legend...??and let her win no category for the night(if shes nominated)...hmmm...leann makes her statement...she knew that the show must go on..she commits, she sing, no excuses...very professional..

OMG 1:46 was pure agony lol. I give her credit though. Sick as she was she still gave it a shot. The people running CMA are bozos for making her go out there like that. You can see it in her face that shes in pain.

My opinion as an singer is: you must know how far you can go. If they put you on that stage to sing when you know you're sick, then you shouldn't be out there. Or else you will just end up hurting yourself like she did. I'm a singer too and when I know I can't do something I just say "no I'm can;t do it". Then they can call me a pussy or whatever. Overall she was good accept fot the high notes where she has to put power in it.
