Yes, what you say is somewhat true. But we did make the world aware that the earth needs some tending. We were there for the first Earth Day. I still wash out and reuse plastic bags. Don't use air conditioning. I want my kid and his kids to have, if not the opportunities we had handed to us on a silver plate, well, I want them to at least have a chance. I don't forget that the opportunities handed to me and want to give back whatever I can.

eemjmm- Her voice, haunting. There is something about a great piece. If it touches me, I get involuntary chills, and sometimes a tear. Melanie's Lay Down with Edwin Hawkins Singers has such a vibration, that the chill is sent trough the spine and vibrates to my toes. Living Bell was another that I still think about occasionally, and I bought the album in 71-2??

Oh, what memories her angelic voice involks. The range and emotion of her voice now survives into her mid fifties. Her voice was and remains a gift. Thank you Melanie for sharing your talents. I am oh so glad that you did not die young!

You know hearing Melanies version of this songs made me think why is it that the Rolling Stones and the Beatles and all those great story tellers of the 60's and 70's could write such great poignant social songs at the time but today they can't write anything but drivvle if they write anything at all?
