i don't like u.s. or isreali policy in the middle east but mr.said does come accross as rather naive in hindsight. his opinions are not based on reality but ideology.

These are not opinions. They are observations backed by source material which is clearly shown in the video. That would called reality, assuming you subscribe to the notion of empirical thought.

i don't subscribe to 'empirical thought'.
i believe that most observations are coloured by ideology. although his work was seminal at the time. the documentary's critism of the previous bombing of the world trade center seem naive in hindsight. i am sorry you don't agree.

I am not sure I even understand you, naive how? I am completely lost on how anything he's said so far has any bearing on 9/11. Although, it's fairly obvious how it colored our response. I am not dismissing your argument, and I would like to be more clear about exactly what your advocating.

i believe the most amazing thing about these videos is that it was made before 9/11. We can see all of the hidden racism even more, post 9/11, than after the Oklahoma City bombing

The irony here is Edgardomoreno uses the word "naive" to describe Dr.Said's observation
analysis. You leave me speechless....

instead of commenting on the tendency for people to not make actually argument on youtube i will just do an amusing thought experiment. You do not believe in empirical thought therefore you see bread and say "this looks like bread, it has all the properties bread has had in the past but i am not rational a priori sure it is bread, hence it is not bread and i will not eat it" the height of epistemological naivety. i consider it impossible for anyone to truly hold such denial of empirical thought
In not subscribing ... ( 8 months ago by Lifestream)
In not subscribing to "empirical thought" you have entirely thrown the baby out with the bathwater. This is akin to subscribing to another ideology. Furthermore what he talks about isn't ideological. One cannot escape completely the colors of their experience but they can refine their positions and understandings in different ontological and epistemological frameworks. Mr. Said clearly shows what sociologists call, in identity formation, the identity of the other. This is a very powerful concept

to ridicule the man who talks about a possible bombing of the trade center as part of a racist canon in the U.S. fixated on radical islam seems naive due to the fact that the man was right. radical islam is a danger to all of us as is any type or orthodox religion.

I notice that Said himself said the images of terrorism and violence were '..easy images..' he says this dismissively of western coverage.
He forgets to say that images of muslim terrorism and violence are only 'easy' because muslims are violent terrorists.
Why is it our fault that muslims are nut jobs? Why should we ignore that fact?
Jihad means ... ( 4 months ago by wilsparky)
Jihad means struggle on all levels: military, social, political, financial and propaganda.
The muslims are an enemy to the west and that is a fact we all need to wake up to now. If our governments had allowed millions of Nazis to migrate to our countries in WW2 we would have been outraged. Why no complaint about islamic penetration into America and Europe? Sleepwalking is a word which springs to mind.
Another two are Trojan and Horse.
