Two different bands, two different sounds, and you have based your thesis entirely on your preferences.
1. 9 musicians mean a more intense imput on all levels, musically and visually.
2. If experimenting and developing is instantly labelled "commercial" then a band will not be able to get anywhere, forever reproducing the same material. A style is like a leather jacket, it ages and morphs with the wearer.
2. Didn't your mother ever tell you the best things in life are the simplest ;)
