i would have been very interested to hear a legitimate explanation of how you created the fugue.
an earnest attempt on your part to describe your methods to, perhaps, an audience of intelligent and interested unschooled musicians would have yielded a stable platform for your humor.

in your overlapping the explanations into a mish-mosh of unintelligible jibberish, you are snydely and sneakily implying "the theory behind this is too complicated for you fools in the audience to understand". seeing this, it is clear your ulterior motive in creating this video is simply to exalt yourself before others.

nonetheless, i was very impressed with your humor, your fugue, and your performance of the fugue. it was quite excellent overall, and it truly shined in many places.

I have to admit, the best part of that video was the Brandenburg 4 fade out. Only Bach knows how to write Fugues :P

Sven -- This was a film school project. There was a 5 minute time limit. You can't really explain how to write fugues in 5 minutes. The only intended audience was a class of 30 fellow film students. I did not initially intend to post it on youtube, and I certainly didn't expect to teach 156,000 viewers how to write a fugue. It's always more interesting to show than tell, anyway. That said, I might actually do a genuine "how to" at some point, considering the interest this video has garnered.

Or, perhaps, he was merely making light of what many consider an impenetrable discipline. It's ironic how little self-awareness some people have. You, for example, are utterly oblivious to the fact that this entire pathetic pop psychology explanation reveals tons about your own insecurity (based on how you interpreted something whose reasoning you could NOT HAVE POSSIBLY KNOWN) and nothing about his "narcissism." In other words, you just announced to the world you're a touchy, insecure wreck. :)

It's called matting. Any video editing program can do it. You can do it with three photos and a pair of scissors. Put a still camera on a tripod, and take three photos, each with you in a different position against the same background. Then cut the three photos and paste together -- the backgrounds will match, because you didn't move the camera between shots. Stupid and easy, no?
