Well, it's right because before Henry blew up, he was a jouster, athlete and sportsman. He was very handsome in his youth.

Whilst I agree that Henry VIII was actually handsome in his youth, JRM unfortunately does not correspond to any account of Henry in his youth. Henry was tall, fair haired (which changed to an auburn colour) and was not as skinny (we can tell this from his armour). He also was not in his twenties by the 1520s when this show begins. JRM is too youthful to play him.

'The Tudors' Henry VIII is just a modern day male model dressed up in very odd clothing (most of which is slightly Elizabethan so nowhere near the actual stuff worn in the 1520s). Shame really that the show lacks a strong male lead.

yah, lol, everytime he's in a scene he just looks into the camera and you can totally tell he's thinking "I'm hot, I'm hot, look at me" but he's actually kinda ugly and very far from being historically accurate, as stated above

LOL! I LOVE this video! The Tudors is a bit silly, but it's undeniably fun. JRM is nothing like Henry, although if he was, the show wouldn't be half as popular as it is. I for one don't mind the "king of sexy", he is a good actor, and the actresses playing Anne, Jane and Katherine all seem prettier than their historical counterparts, but then attractive women are usually cast in programmes like this, in defiance of historical accuracy. It's about time the girls had something to look at too!

lol although this trailer is funny and it's good henry actually was pretty fit in his early years which is why JRM is playing him. it wasn't until his later years till he got fat.
