Fad Gadget aka frank tovey was a one-off performer who, along with Numan, Depeche Mode, Human Leauge
Cabaret Voltaire made some of the earliest impressions on the uk electronic music scene in the late 70's.

It does have a certain similarity. It seems more artsy new wave practitioners like Fad Gadget, New Order, Wire and Gary Numan all had a unique sound that coincidentally sounded familiar. Brilliant minds think alike, after all. :3
