I don't get why people would voluntarily sign up to die for "their country" anyways. Every nation that's ever existed has been controlled by the rich, and all the functions of the state belong to that oligarchy. The United States, the EU, they're no different. 9/11 was the result of our false sense of security and delusions of invincibility. If anything we should thank them for waking us up. The only reason people sign up is because A) They don't have any other avenue to pursue or B) That want to seem significant in somebody's eyes. We're the land of the hypocrites, so me saying this is validated. We make hundreds and hundreds of nukes but make sure nobody else has them? (Though they do) That sounds like an empire to me. ;d

No, don't watch ZG2. It's just a giant advertisement for The Venus Project, which although is definitely something I've always supported, is extremely amusing. "No more advertisers", my ass. Both Zeitgiest movies were intentionally deceptive, and were formulated to forward an agenda. Not saying I don't support that "agenda", more or less, but the way in which it lied, purposefully, and distorted the truth to get supporters, was sick. You don't watch movies to wake yourself up. And tisokan, McCain does know what he's doing. Good point. Ruthlessly selling out his values and the people he previously swore to protect in his quest for power. Of course, Obama also knows what he's doing. More or less. And he's not doing what McCain is, so he's pretty tolerable all things considered. Not my first choice, but I'm fine with him. He'll do until we can start to really change this country, and this world.

I think you have it backwards. McCain wants to increase troops in Iraq, and continue our occupat-sorry, "liberation" there. Obama wants to bring people home, and redirect the remaining resources towards Afghanistan. So he (Obama) is much less for investing our tax dollars in foreign affairs than McCain is, actually. Plus, McCain is a habitual liar. That doesn't help his chances with me any.

What are you talking about? Obama is saying that he's going to start being more multilateral. As in, hey, let's actually act with other nations. Which gains us credibility. And if you think sending foreign aid to our allies is "Handing out free money", and going to war for lies and the profit of the elite is in the American people's economic, political, or moral interests, then I don't know what to say to you. You just said that war, though you hate it, is acceptable if it doesn't hurt YOU.

Because of course we want video-games to dictate our foreign policy. I don't understand how WE will be screwed. Or they will, in any way more so than right now. All we are doing is fueling discontent there, and providing a target for peoples' anger, and when we defend ourselves, we fuel more anger, and so on. And of course, providing more destruction for Haliburton to "rebuild", for a price. In all reality, leaving all at once won't make a difference as to the outcome.
