That's just how it was back then...ADRENALINE! The only reason people now are used to hearing things live at the same tempo as the original recording is because so many acts use the same DAT or "click" track they had in the studio. Back in the day, though, it was all HUMAN...and funkier because of it.

opinions, dude. interesting. this particular version I don't love as much as the studio version, but man, that studio version is the Shit. I heard it about 12 hours straight (on a cross country drive all alone) once. its sthe diggity bomb. check out that version (off THE PAYBACK) if you haven't.

Gotta disagree on this one. Payback was a #1 hit in 1974 and it is a theme song for "getting mad!" Mike Tyson used to listen to it before his fights, and I can see why. Listen to the studio version long enough and you will feel your strength increase.
