Earth-Sun ... ( 10 months ago by PimpWitGrillz)
Earth-Sun relationships are usually laid out in the first week of any general geography class. I'm curious (and I don't mean any disrespect), have you studied geography before? I ask because most people either haven't taken a course or had it with a poorly prepared teacher (e.g. Coach Jones).

Hi. Let's not blame the teachers : ) When you learn something in school it doesn't magically stay with you unless you care. I didn't. Literature and art history were more my thing. But I have become interested in medieval cosmology recently (connection to art history) hence the renewed interest in basic geography and astronomy.

But why is the earth's axis not tilted at spring equinox 21 or 22 March???(@1:35..pls reply anyone..
I am sure that when I show this video to my son he is going to ask me the same question??
The Earth's axis is ... ( 9 months ago by pchartmann)
The Earth's axis is always tilted relative to the plane of its orbit around the sun. At the equinoxes, the tilt is just not towards or away from the sun. The earth's tilt over the course of a year does not effectively change relative to a fixed point in space, but changes relative to the sun based or where in the orbit the earth is at a given point in time. Hope this helps

As the Earth ... ( 6 months ago by pennsauken1992)
As the Earth rotates around the sun its angle in relation to the Sun changes. At both equinox's the Earth's equator is directly inline with the sun. So the amount of daylight and night are the same. From equinox the angle changes until it reaches its max 23.5 on the relevant solstice.
