Beyonce has lost too much weight to play Etta in the Chess Era. Etta's voice came from her body as well as soul, and Etta's stage presence is inimitable by someone as thin as Beyonce. Nor does the timbre of her voice come anywhere close to Etta's. Nope, they need someone else.

this have nothing to do with jealous hate , thats the way you concede this message. like i said needs an professional actress. Etta James bend around long enough to have her own life story. She was on drugs a portion of her life. She was around with the best of entertainers of her era. Read her book you will have a better grasps of Etta. If they do a story of her Beyonce will not do it justice. Her turn around from drugs when she song the opening national athemn in the 1984 Olympic

Beyonce fans looking at Beyonce not Etta James. Anyone think Beyonce could play Etta James, they don't know Etta James. Etta James is cut from another cloth. Beyonce will not be able to wear this cloth. You need a real professional actress to play this roll. You ever play Etta James needs to be around Etta one on one basic, to get to know her life story. Like Jamie Fox was with Ray Charles for weeks before he decided to play Ray Charles and he did a good job during it. Etta James book is amazing

I get what you are saying. I am a fan of both(Bey and Etta) and even Etta at first said that she had some tepidations. But I think part of the problem is how people percieve Beyonc

I just think people need to give her(Bey) a chance. If they won't, then don't watch the movie. And as for singing, Beyonce lower register is very strong and her voice period has matured even from 2006. Will it be as good as Etta, probably not. But I don't think a professional actress could fully do it either. Unless, they dub Etta's voice. I just think people need to give her a chance, rather than saying what Bey can't do.
