I wonder what ... ( 2 weeks ago by maloxman)
I wonder what altitudes they are expecting to fly to? I could already imagine rapid decompression incidents occurring... I dunno... it may be a good idea (but I'd rather fly a 787 anyway lol). UGH! I can already imagine all of the new regs!

Surely no-one actually believes this joke video... Oops, lots of you do!!! Nice one, 'Hunt Aviation'.

so is this true or not ??????????????
I mean maybe it's unrealistic for now, but maybe the technology can be used for other things like cars? I don't know!
it's true it's really funny though lol. a plane that works by itself using the pressure of air as source of energy, really high in altitude, is just really funny lol lol ol ol!!
so what do you think?
It actually makes a ... ( 2 weeks ago by mikerockwell1975)
It actually makes a lot of sense. Maybe you should look at it again to realize its potential. It is NOT a perpetual machine, rather it is using wind energy like a glider, but storing it for later use and simply uses reusable compressed helium to get to altitude. Very ingenious!

A glider does not ... ( 2 weeks ago by Beetlebank)
A glider does not use 'wind energy' except when slope soaring. To gain altitude it uses thermals which, ultimately, derive their energy from the sun. "Helium fills the collapsible bags..." Where does the helium come from when the plane is sitting in an "...open body of water or land..."? It's a bit like putting a wind turbine on your bicycle to drive an electric motor. Come on guys, this is not even first year physics stuff. Or maybe someone is winding me up...

not so bad but the turbines can't get back the whole energy, and you need a first enregy to rise.

So it's not really fuel-less. It uses compressed air, but it (supposedly) regains it on the way down. Self sufficient, but in a cycle. A good idea if the E for takeoff
E from glide.

that wount work, the area of the helium balloons are way to small, and it would go very slowly.
Oxygen is NOT a ... ( 1 week ago by junglist1soldier)
Oxygen is NOT a fuel.Fuel is a chemical liquid substance that is burned, in order to produce an explosion, within the cylinders of an engine. There has to always be a NERD, to argue with what is said. What a nerd.

The Zeppelin blew up pretty BIG,
it had a LARGE helium tank, so to speak.
Regarding the ... ( 6 days ago by upcycle)
Regarding the Zeppelin airship, it used hydrogen gas for lift, is that the fire was out of control as a result of a flammable paint on the skin of the the blimp. Some believe that had the zepplin used a fire resistant material on the skin of the airship, that the tire could have been contained. With that said, this airship uses helium, a non flammable gas for lift. And with todays technology, there are more options for building with fire proof/resistant materials, and fire detection and control.

Yes this could work ... If perpetual motion was possible? Everytime you compress or release air you loose energy as heat and sound etc. and we're not talking about a little but a lot!
