I have NO IDEA, I just make it all up in my head! It's clearly about something specific to Cohen, but since I'll probably never know I just make up the story in my head . . . it's more fun. It's pretty interesting cinematically. Like a cross between an old movie and some kind of modernist painting style. I like a mystery.

God, I remember this tune. It's way in the back of my fucking mind. I remember humming it back in the eighties, it's got the eighties sound here. Came out around the time Industrial was getting some steam. I didn't think I'd frikin ever run into this song again. Thanx for posting, whoever, if this is Leonard or whoever. Awesome.

yes, that performance it is said he declared wouldn't be filmed. what a performance. to hear a range of generations singing along to his music like that, all moved because the songs are so important to them, is quite astonishing. it was a joyous occasion, and couldn't have been in a more impressive location, because there isn't one.

god, i was annoyed when he refused to let the bbc show his glastonbury set! i don't think he's ever written a song that could be called 'boring'. his record compares with dylan 64-74, bowie 69-79, lou reid 66-84, morrissey 83-present... len is one of the greatest lyric rock stars of all time.

I just want to say that if you get the chance,go and see the man live.I have seen him live in Berlin twice,1988 and 1993 and now he is playing again on october 9,it is a great experience and i am so happy that he is the hottest thing in town right now after Glastonbury etc...who would have thought it after all these years?
