I let CJ's friends and mine come over and Dance, sing, play guitar, or just talk ! Burlington Police got a call 3 hours later for kids in the alley. All the teens are to be home by curfew, shit they run me out of food! Got to run home to mom and dad, lol! If we keep putting our kids on the street, that is where they will be. These kids work, go to college, and half of them go to the 12
12 club (AA). I was a 13 year old Alcoholic because I thought drinking was the ONLY way to have fun. As for rumors started by people up at the restaurant, why don't you guys talk to your kids and see what we do. Ask "The DayRollers" who are a teen Beatles group who learn about music and fun. If any of these people want every single teen to come to their house ,I will gladly say "Go for it!" Let the kids dance, talk, and get some scripture. Maybe rock and Roll! I will allow the kids so much. When they are in the alley going there own ways because I HONOR curfew. I understand when You get a call you have to respond. Soon, by the grace of God I will open the biggest teen center this area has ever seen. Pool Tables, big screens, books, bands, guess what NO VIDEO GAMES! I will have AA and Alateen 24/7 .
Some of these kids are 16 year old alcoholics. Some have parents that are on crack, some lost a parent or a friend to drugs or suicide. I almost died from drinking. Before that I was a lonely teen on the street, because I chose Alcohol instead of my family. I know some of the kids smoke. I have rules. No swearing in the house, never use the Lords name in vain, if you eat , please bring food next time. If people call me crazy for that, so be it! If they drink, they don't get it from me, but I will tell a lost, drunk, kid where to get help! That is the goal of Rocking Fun Music, to make money for this center. I only allow 3 kids at once, about an hour. I have to upload and download and type all night! I make sure they get the hell out. Call me a teen advocate , I guess! Peace Out! Common Grounds (teen center) is good, but it needs funding ,support, and longer hours. No staff! Let's get these teens working and going to school by being mentors. Every cop should mentor 3 teens. You see the kids, get to know them. Do you want to scrape another one off the road, or tell another kid there mom is dead. Do something to keep a teen alive! If anyone reading this has a job or an oppurtunity to help a teen , do it!
