*471215* This was an old folk song that was popular in the south during the early 1900's. The oldest known recording is by Smoky Mountain artists Clarence "Tom" Ashley and Gwen Foster and was made in 1933. 1933-2008 "75 years" Why bother correcting someone when you can't speak intelligently? Its ok I won't hold it against you because you probably havn't taken any American history of music classes. But it's a good thing one of us has.
