mavericks is off the coast of pillar point harbour. look at a map of upper central/nor cal. The guys who surf Mavericks in the winter are really crazy. You can't tell from the vid but there is gnarly reef that could DESTROY you if you fall wrong. plus those waves hold you under. I have surfed waves half their size and it's freaky.
