I agree with (ridethespiral23) for the mostpart, however, you have to admit that maynard is using a play on words here-a bit of a pun-by calling the it pot; and making referances to marijauna ''reafer savior'' ''you must have been high'' these are definatly in referance to marijuana.

the name of this song got its name from and english idiom the pot calling the kettle black, which means when you point to another person and accuse that person of doing something that you are guilty of doing yourself. the songs meaning is about heroin as eyeballs in muddy water refers to heroin no.3 which turns brown when boiled.
