In this exclusive podcast, "NATURE" executive producer Fred Kaufman discusses the series' thrilling silver anniversary special, "The Best of NATURE -- 25 Years," which re-airs Sunday, December 2nd at 8 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Kaufman touches on the challenges facing natural history filmmakers, how technology has affected the genre, and which segments were chosen for the anniversary special -- including one controversial, disturbing scene.
Hosted by journalist Lynn Sherr, the 90-minute "Best of NATURE -- 25 Years" features some of the greatest wildlife scenes ever captured on film, including fierce battles between predator and prey, the struggle to reproduce and much more. Programs highlighted in this podcast: "Triumph of Life," "
Deep Jungle," "Cloud: Wild Stallion of the Rockies," "Shark Mountain," and "The Urban Elephant." "NATURE" is produced by Thirteen/WNET New York for PBS.

I was VERY Disapointed in this DVD, I love the show nature (PBS) and if you look at almost all the shows, Death is NOT all over the Show. This DVD is nothing but death! I know it happens, but perhaps the BEST of nature is NOT THE DEATH OF THINGS! PBS Really did a poor job and used very little thought into this DVD. PBS and Nature in the past showed how wonderful nature was and used some thought. Perhaps they should have reviewd the last 25 years of the show to see what the show was really about!

Don't forget that animals live in an equilibrium with nature. The same can't be said for people. We overly consume all the resources of the planet, and overpopulate all reaches of the globe. We are the cause for the great die off of animals that we see today. We polute and consume and destroy. So much for our great ability to think critically. We can't even save ourselves from ourselves.
