i totally agree! jim is very blandly produced, this version of the track and the la garage mix of "figured me out" are way better. saw him last night at koko in camden, the stage show is very toned down too, it's like seeing a different act.

Lewis Taylor a plumber? What a load of bullshit. You have to do a lot of training to be a plumber. You don't just pick up a fucking spanner and call yourself a plumber. For what it's worth, this version is all a bit too "Sly"-ish and knowing to engage me on any level. The single/album version is much better. If he is trying to shift units, it's not working in the UK/Europe. The live show's been toned down too much as well. Still, if it doesn't work out, he can always go into plumbing.
