As someone has stated earlier the song is originally done by the Skids (sottish band from dunfermline) written by Stuart Adamson (RIP) and Richard Jobson. Saw them live and Big country too, an awesomely talented band who should have been as famous as U2 or green day. I met Richard Jobson once in a bar he was playing at in Manchester!!! My claim to fame!!

i dont understand the point of this video outside of we were suppose to help more then we did. i'm agree we should have done more but when the mayor issues a mandatory evacuation order you get the hell out. i know im not suppose to take what happened in the video seriously but you cant just drop stuff out a b2 like that if you did it will do what the video showed go right into water. also apaches carrying people, tanks rolling into cities?

I have seen some comments saying this is ALL Bush's fault. It's not. New Orleans had a week or a week and a half's notice and did not evacuate. There are so many warnings there, that they don't know whether to evacuate or not. That time they didn't, and made a horrible mistake. So they obviously blame it on Bush, who is a good president, and make him look bad.

These bands obviously lack the mental capacity to do even a decent cover of a great song by the great band from Scotland. It just saddens me to see that people of my generation think U2 & Green day possess some great political intelligence (they have none). Firstly, Bono as we all know speaks up for different charities, but for the very reason to hold his name in higher prestige. Exploitation of peoples ideas in essence gives him his vanity, is where it's at. These bands make me feel suicidal.
