Also, New York city parks do have quite the crime rate since they made it illegal to carry a weapon. You have every right to have a firearm on you to defend yourself. i was sure this was about national parks, or does new york not own its own parks? either way, you are more likely to shoot somebody who isnt a danger to you, then somebody that is because of your heightened state of nervousness always wondering what will attack you next. even then, you shouldnt be going into the woods of national park at night. no need for a gun, just dont go. criminals usually like to surprise people, or have their own guns, not stand in front of you so you can attack back.

Actually the last time I was in yellowstone we almost got charged by a bullmoose in heat, so if I would have had a gun, a warning shot would have scared it away, instead it attacked a geo metro and tried to mount a civic. I'm just glad It wasn't my car.

i wish the animals could shoot back since you are entering their territory willingly. but then you wouldnt want that, i hope. deal with the chances when going into a wildlife sanctuary or open park, or don't go. yo act like it isnt your choice. oh, and why do you need a gun for that. carry about a loud item like those loud air cans. or a noise gun used in track games. so many items loud enough to scare away animals. why can you only think of violent ways of solving problems.

You should have the right to carry a concealed weapon just about anywhere. Why wouldn't you want a gun if you are out in the middle of nowhere where you could not be heard easily?
