Jefferson didn't write about seperation of church and state KATIE!!!! he wrote about a state religeon not being imposed on the people, he didn't want a wall between church and state, he just didn't want a religon forced on anyone. seperation of church and state does not exist in the constitution, i challange anyone to find where it talks about seperating church and state.

Because religious belief, or non-belief, is such an important part of every person's life, freedom of religion affects every individual. Religious institutions that use government power in support of themselves and force their views on persons of other faiths, or of no faith, undermine all our civil rights.

Watched this twice and caught one important difference - Palin talked about establishing "a religion". However, this law pertains to religion not "a religion", hence laws that give preference to a class of religions is also prohibited. (Of course, I am ignoring the obvious difference that Biden answered the question while Palin did not. She opted to go into a tangent about private citizens expressing themselves and not discuss the separation.)

You call that eloquent? She didn't answer the question at all. She rambled about personal faith, and other nonsense that has nothing to do with the question. The separation of Church and State is a very specific issue, and she dodged it.
