The reason Toyota is pushing to reduce emissions standards is because they have a ton of large vehicles in their fleet, not just hybrids like the Prius.

Toyota maybe have the best environmental policy of the major automotive companies, but it is still a profit-oriented company. As long as they can make more money be going with the crowd, they are going to fence-sit on the edge of environmental commitment. Government enforcement is good, but when it comes down to it, the power to demand better is all in the hands of the consumers. We should DEMAND BETTER CARS!!
